Charholi Budruk lies between Moshi and Alandi, along the Dehu–Alandi road. Ten years ago it was mostly farmland; today it is full of large new townships, and the road to Lohegaon and the airport makes it popular with people who work on the east side too.
Most people we move in Charholi have just got the keys to a flat in one of the new townships, often after renting in Moshi, Dighi or Vishrantwadi for a few years. Our office is in Moshi, inside PCMC, so Charholi is part of the area our team covers every day.
What shifting in Charholi is like
Most homes here are large new townships and gated societies, with village homes in the older part. We are often around Dehu–Alandi Road, Charholi Phata, Wadmukhwadi, Charholi–Lohegaon Road and Indrayani riverside, which helps a lot on moving day: we already know the roads, the parking and the usual society rules.
Most Charholi societies are only a few years old and have strict rules on when a moving truck may enter. We send the society office the vehicle number and timing a day ahead so the gate does not hold us up.
Short moves usually come from Moshi, Dighi, Alandi or Dhanori, and many are first moves into a bought home. A move like that is normally packed, moved and set up in one day. If you only have a fridge, a bed and a few cartons, ask for few item shifting. We send a smaller tempo and you pay for that, not for a whole truck.
How a local move usually goes
Say you are shifting a 2 BHK from near Dehu–Alandi Road to Moshi. Our team of four reaches around 9 in the morning with cartons, bubble wrap and tape. The kitchen and the fragile things are packed first, then the bedrooms, then the living room, and every box gets the room name written on it. Beds and wardrobes are taken apart and the screws go into small labelled bags. By early afternoon the truck is loaded, heavy things at the bottom and fragile boxes on top. At the new place the same people unload, carry each box to its room, fit the furniture back together and take the empty cartons away. Most days like this are over by evening, and you sleep in your own bed in the new home that night.
Redevelopment and family moves
In Charholi we see a lot of redevelopment moves. The building is being rebuilt, so the family moves out to a rented flat for a few years and then moves back into the new one. We do both trips. Other families are moving to a bigger home, or bringing parents to live with them, and only some of the furniture is needed in the new place. The rest can stay in our storage until you decide what to do with it.
From Charholi to another city
When people from Charholi move out of Pune, the cities we hear most often are Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai and Nagpur. We pick up from your door here and deliver to your new home, with extra packing for the long road and a message on WhatsApp when the truck leaves and when it reaches. The other way round works too: if you are moving into Charholi from another city, we can bring your goods here or just do the unloading and setting up.
What it costs
Honestly, it depends on what you are moving. Taking one room from Charholi to Moshi is a few hours of work. A fully furnished 3 BHK on a high floor going to another state is a different job altogether. What matters most is how much you have, which floor you are on and whether there is a lift, and how far it is going.
