Dehu Road is a cantonment town on the old Mumbai–Pune Highway, home to the Ordnance Factory and a large army presence, and just a few kilometres from the temple town of Dehu.
Many of our Dehu Road customers are defence and ordnance factory families on a posting, along with people in the newer Kiwale and Mamurdi societies. Our office is in Moshi, inside PCMC, so Dehu Road is part of the area our team covers every day.
Moving house in Dehu Road
Most homes here are defence quarters, cantonment homes and newer societies in Kiwale and Mamurdi. Our team works around Old Mumbai–Pune Highway, Dehu Road Cantonment, Ordnance Factory area, Kiwale, Mamurdi and Dehu Road railway station all the time, so we usually know before we arrive where the truck can stand and how the society likes moves to be done.
Defence and ordnance colonies need a gate pass for the vehicle and the crew. Share the gate details with us early and we send the vehicle number and team names well before the day.
Short moves go to Nigdi, Ravet, Talegaon and Akurdi, while defence postings usually mean a long trip to another state. A move like that is normally packed, moved and set up in one day. If you only have a fridge, a bed and a few cartons, ask for few item shifting. We send a smaller tempo and you pay for that, not for a whole truck.
What the day looks like
Say you are shifting a 2 BHK from near Old Mumbai–Pune Highway to Lonavala. Our team of four reaches around 9 in the morning with cartons, bubble wrap and tape. The kitchen and the fragile things are packed first, then the bedrooms, then the living room, and every box gets the room name written on it. Beds and wardrobes are taken apart and the screws go into small labelled bags. By early afternoon the truck is loaded, heavy things at the bottom and fragile boxes on top. At the new place the same people unload, carry each box to its room, fit the furniture back together and take the empty cartons away. Most days like this are over by evening, and you sleep in your own bed in the new home that night.
Old buildings and narrow lanes
Many homes in Dehu Road are in older buildings: steep staircases, no lift, and lanes where a big truck cannot stop for long. We plan for that. An extra person goes on the stairs, a smaller vehicle comes into the lane, and the main truck waits on the main road if needed. Families here who are moving on a defence or government transfer usually have a long journey ahead, so we pack for the road from the start and make a proper list of every box.
From Dehu Road to another city
When people from Dehu Road move out of Pune, the cities we hear most often are Mumbai, Bangalore, Nagpur and Delhi. We pick up from your door here and deliver to your new home, with extra packing for the long road and a message on WhatsApp when the truck leaves and when it reaches. The other way round works too: if you are moving into Dehu Road from another city, we can bring your goods here or just do the unloading and setting up.
What it costs
The price changes a lot from one move to another. Taking one room from Dehu Road to Lonavala is a few hours of work. A fully furnished 3 BHK on a high floor going to another state is a different job altogether. What matters most is how much you have, which floor you are on and whether there is a lift, and how far it is going. Send us a short video of your home on WhatsApp and we will reply with a written price that includes packing, loading, transport and unloading. If you can, avoid month-end weekends, when every mover in Pune is busy.
